Teaching the Genome Generation™ (TtGG) empowers high school teachers to enhance genomics education with resources on DNA ethics, methods, and bioinformatics.
Teaching the Genome Generation™ (TtGG) equips high school teachers with the knowledge, strategies, and resources to enhance student learning in genomics and personalized medicine. The program covers:
1. Ethics involved in DNA testing (both in the classroom and the community)
2. Methods involved in isolating, amplifying, and detecting DNA
3. Bioinformatic methods utilized in analyzing DNA, RNA, and amino acid sequences.
In collaboration with Harvard Medical School's Personal Genetics Education Project (pgEd), TtGG provides bioethics lessons and resources that support teachers in implementing the laboratory portion of the TtGG curriculum. The lab exercises use human genes, helping students connect with the material and take ownership of their results.
