Established in Bar Harbor, Maine in 1929, JAX is a global organization with nearly 3,000 employees worldwide and campuses and facilities in Maine, Connecticut, California, New York, Florida, and Japan. From rural countryside to bustling cities, each JAX location has a different focus and a unique combination of programs that align to advance our common mission — to discover precise genomic solutions for disease and empower the biomedical research community in our shared quest to improve human health.
Our major research campuses in Maine, Connecticut, and New York bring together scientists, technologies, and partners driving breakthroughs in genetics and biomedicine. Each site contributes distinct expertise — from model development and data science to translational and stem cell research — all advancing JAX’s mission to improve human health.
