The Summer Student Program at our Farmington campus offers a unique non-residential experience, combining immersive research training with professional development.
The Summer Student Program provides a housing stipend, and students are responsible for securing their own accommodations within commuting distance to the Farmington campus.
Students will receive a declining balance card to use in the Laboratory's cafeteria, as well as a meal stipend.
Our Farmington campus is near West Hartford, which offers a blend of Greater New England culture and the natural beauty of outdoor spaces near the JAX campus and across Connecticut. Students have many options for off-site activities in West Hartford and nearby areas, including Blue Back Square and the scenic Elizabeth Park.
Though this is not a residential program, participants are encouraged to spend time together. The Program will also sponsor one group activity. Past activities have included tubing on the Farmington River, attending a Yard Goats game (the local minor league baseball team), day hikes, kayaking and spending a day at a nearby beach, such as Misquamicut State Beach in Rhode Island.
